The Downtown Hotel and Perkins House are private tour location. It is $300 and you can bring up to 6 people in your group for 4 hours. We provide equipment to help you investigate. Tours dates available online.
Downtown Hotel
The Ellis Building was built in 1893. It housed Long's Variety Store for years and then different retail stores over the years. It is now the Colfax Mercantile. The upstairs was a hotel, boarding house and a half way house over the years. The business below can hear running, little kids laughing, doors slam and have seen things in the hallways.
Perkins House
The Perkins House is owned by the Historical Society. It was built in 1886 by the founder of Colfax, James Perkins. You can set up a private tour by contacting: colfaxdirector@gmail.com.
